Police find body in trunk after stopping car driving wrong way down Cancun avenue

Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun Municipal Police arrested a teen Monday after finding a dead body in the trunk of the car he was riding in. Police initially stopped the car around 1:30 a.m. for driving the wrong way down Arco Norte Avenue.

During an inspection of the vehicle, police found the body of a man in the trunk at which time the driver fled. His passenger, reported to be a 15-year-old, was arrested.

The stop and subsequent search of the red Nissan Versa took place in the Cielo Nuevo neighborhood of Cancun. A search was carried out when police noticed the pair acting nervous when they were asked if everything was okay.

The driver of the car managed a successful escape in SM 245. His passenger was not as lucky.

The deceased body is reported to be of a man between 20 and 30 who was found fully clothed and tied up with several physical injuries. Cancun police are continuing their search for the driver of the vehicle.
