Tulum, Q.R. — Two Canadian men have been arrested for the rape of a Canadian woman inside a Tulum hotel. Police say the rape happened February 19, 2025 at a hotel were all three were staying.

Raciel López Salazar, head of the State Attorney General of Quintana Roo, said Monday that Joseph David “N” and Matthew “N” were picked up on arrest warrants for the Tulum incident.
“Elements of the Investigative Police executed an arrest warrant for two Canadian citizens for their alleged involvement in events that could constitute the crime of rape against a victim of reserved identity, of the same nationality,” Raciel López Salazar reported in a statement Monday.
López Salazar identified the detainees as Canadians Joseph David “N” and Matthew “N”.
“The events for which they are being investigated occurred on February 19 of this year in a hotel in the municipality of Tulum where both they and the victim were staying.
“They were in the pool area when later, the two men took the woman to their room where they committed the crime of rape. After their arrest they were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, who will determine their legal situation within the period of law,” he said.
