Police execute arrest warrant against pair wanted in eight Tulum murders

Tulum, Q.R. — State officials have arrested two men reported related to eight murders in the municipality of Tulum. Both men were picked up on outstanding arrest warrants Thursday.

“The arrest was made for Alberto “N”, alias “El 100” and/or “El 80” and Luis Miguel “N”, alias “El 200”, who are being held in the Playa del Carmen Municipal Detention Center for alleged drug dealing,” authorities reported Friday.

“Initial investigations into Alberto “N” and Luis Miguel “N” link them to eight homicides committed in the municipality of Tulum,” police said in an official statement Friday afternoon. “Both are members of a violent criminal group dedicated to drug dealing and contract killing,” they added.

Authorities reported that one of the murders for which they are accused occurred on November 14, 2024. They grabbed a man who was walking on Cobá Street in the municipality of Tulum, forcing him to get into a van. Inside the van, police said was another man who ordered him killed.

Alberto “N” and Luis Miguel “N” are accused of that killing along with seven others throughout the municipality. After their arrests, both suspects were admitted into the Municipal Detention Center (prison) of Playa del Carmen.
