Police detain two in Tulum with drugs, 10,000 in cash

Tulum, Q.R. — Elements of the Quintana Roo Police in Tulum report the arrest of two men for drug possession. The pair were taken into custody in the streets of the Lakin neighborhood after neighbors called authorities reporting a drug deal taking place in the street.

When police arrived, they visualized a couple of subjects who were exchanging transparent bags. A routine inspection located three plastic bags of marijuana as well as 10,000 peso in cash.

Tulum police have arrested 27-year-old José Benjamín N and 34-year-old Donato N, originally from Chanchen, Quintana Roo.

Both were transferred to Playa del Carmen and made available to the Special Prosecutor’s Office for drug related offenses.
