Tulum, Q.R. — A 19-year-old woman police say is a key operator of a criminal group in Tulum has been captured. She was taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant for murder, however, she was also wanted for drug distribution.
Investigative Police executed an arrest warrant against Sheila Yuritza “N” in the town of Felipe Carrillo Puerto last week. She was wanted for her involvement in the murder of a Tulum man.
According to Quintana Roo State Attorney General Raciel López Salazar, Sheila Yuritza “N” was on the state’s Most Wanted list. López Salazar said despite her young age, she had already made her way onto Quintana Roo’s Crime Atlas or Most Wanted list.

According to the investigation presented by prosecutor Raciel López Salazar Monday, Sheila Yuritza “N” is believed to have been the person in charge of drug distribution. He said she was part of a criminal group and headed the drug operations in bars around Tulum.
López Salazar reported that she was the third person wanted for participating in the murder of a Tulum man. The other two, Emanuel N and Mauricio N have already been charged with aggravated homicide.
According to López Salazar, their motive for the murder was a dispute between criminal groups seeking to maintain control of drug dealing in the Tulum bar areas.
