Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A woman driving through the Palmas II subdivision of Playa del Carmen was shot dead Friday. She had a minor in the car with her at the time of the shooting.
The child was not injured.
Witnesses reported seeing the woman’s car intercepted at the intersection of Palmas Silvestre Street and Palmas II Boulevard after leaving what neighbors referred to as a drug house.
The shooting happened around 6:00 p.m.
Police arrived to find the woman unresponsive in the driver’s seat of her car. Paramedics confirmed she had died at the scene. She had been shot once in the chest.
Her relation to the child in the car with her was not defined.
Local authorities have not announced possible suspects or persons of interest.
