Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Playa del Carmen taxi driver was arrested over the weekend for tying to sell forgotten electronic devices. The unnamed driver was located at a city repair shop by the owners of those electronics Friday.
The owners of the electronics, which were accidently forgotten in the taxi, found their devices using GPS. They tracked the signal to an electronic repair shop where the taxi driver was attempting to sell them.

The incident happened Friday afternoon when the taxi driver was hailed down by a family in need of a ride. When they got to their destination, they forgot a piece of luggage they had put in the trunk.
Using GPS, they were able to track down their forgotten luggage. They arrived at the pinged site of the location to find their driver trying to sell the electronics they had inside their luggage.
The family called police who arrived at a repair shop on 90 Avenue around 5:30 p.m. in response to the report. There, the taxi driver was found trying to sell tablets he had allegdly found inside their luggage.
The taxi driver was arrested by Municipal Police officers after being accused of allegedly appropriating the luggage of his passengers.
