Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Playa del Carmen police are investigating a possible murder-suicide. Their investigation began after an adult man and woman were found dead inside a home Thursday.
Police were called to an address in Palmas I subdivision around 5:30 p.m. on Las Palmas Boulevard. Inside the home, officers found two people lying on the floor surrounded by a pool of blood.
Both suffered from knife wounds.
Paramedics were called in to confirm the deaths. Neighbors reportedly told police they often heard ongoing conflict between the couple, especially in recent weeks.
According to early information, neighbors called police after hearing the couple fighting and the woman calling out for help. When police arrived, they found the woman dead from alleged stab wounds.
The man, reported to be her husband, was also found dead from a knife wound. That wound is believed to have been self-inflicted. The death of both is being looked into as a possible murder-suicide.
