Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Police in Playa del Carmen are on the search for a woman after her boyfriend died from a stab wound. The incident took place Sunday afternoon in a residential area in west Playa del Carmen.
Police were called to the Pescadores II subdivision around 4:30 p.m. when a caller reported a dead man inside his home. The main line of investigation points to his girlfriend as the alleged perpetrator.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred in a residence located on the second floor of a building on Alondra Avenue. Police arrived to a slightly opened door.
Accounts gathered at the scene indicate that the 9-1-1 report was made by the woman involved. She allegedly reported the assault but left the scene before police arrived.
Inside the second floor apartment, police found a deceased male. He was laying on the floor with a visable stab wound. Paramedics confirmed his death.
The area was cordoned off by police while the body was removed. Local authorities continue to search for the woman alleged responsible for the stabbing.
