PDC criminal leader charged with five counts of homicide and attempted homicide

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The State Attorney General (FGE) criminal leader Carlos Enrique “N” will proceed to trial. On Tuesday, he was charged “for his probable participation in acts possibly constituting the crimes of aggravated homicide, attempted homicide and aggravated injuries to the detriment of five people,” the FGE reported.

He is being investigated for events that occurred on October 20, 2021, in an establishment located in the Centro neighborhood of Playa del Carmen. The FGE said he is accused of shooting two people who were in the building, who in turn, also fired their weapon, injuring five people at the scene.

“As a result of the gunshot wounds they received, two of the injured died while being transported to the hospital,” they said.

This Public Prosecutor’s Office gathered evidence, which was added to the investigation, and in court, obtained the order to formally charge Carlos Enrique “N”. The FGE reported that the judge also imposed the precautionary measure of preventive detention for the time during which the process is carried out.

They added that the accused is the alleged leader of a violent criminal cell in this area.
