Othón P. Blanco, Q.R. — The male driver of a private car was killed in a highway accident early Friday morning. Motorist traveling the two-lane highway stopped to assist the man who was found trapped by crushed metal behind the wheel.
An ambulance was called around 6:30 a.m. to attend to the male driver that paramedics found had already died. Police and National Guard were sent to the scene while they waited for Servicio Médico Forense (Semefo) personnel to remove the body.
The driver of the white car is reported to have collided with a large truck near the town of Jesús González Ortega. Witnesses said the driver of that truck fled. An exact cause for the fatal accident has not been released.
