Pair wanted for Tulum murder arrested in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Q. R. — Two men wanted for a March murder in Tulum have been detained in Playa del Carmen. On Thursday, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) made a statement reporting the arrests of Luis “P” and Sergio “O”.

The pair were picked up on Avenida Prolongación Benito Juárez in the city of Playa del Carmen on outstanding arrest warrants. Both men were wanted in the March 2023 murder of a Tulum man.

According to the FGE, on March 22 of this year, both Luis “P” and Sergio “O” are alleged to have gone to a butcher shop located in Tulum where the victim was shot several times. The shooters fled the scene. The victim died days later in a Playa del Carmen hospital.

The FGE says both detainees remain confined in the Solidaridad Social Retention Center.
