Tulum, Q.R. — An overturned flatbed carrying construction material left a section of Tulum highway congested. On Monday, the driver of the semi flipped his unit onto its side, spilling his load.
The vehicle was transporting a shipment of sheet metal when the driver lost control due to a burst tire. The cab of the semi as well as the flatbed rolled over.
Morning traffic along the Tulum municipal highway was left at a crawl due to the accident. Vehicles passing through the area were slowed as they maneuvered around the scene of scattered debris.
National Guard Highways were sent in response to motorists who came upon the overturned semi. They worked to clear the road of scattered sheets of metal as well as upright the overturned flatbed.
The driver was assessed by paramedics and found not seriously injured, however, the semi was left heavily damaged.
