Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man was found dead Tuesday night inside an apartment in the Zazil-Ha neighborhood. Playa del Carmen police were at the scene around 11:00 p.m. after the man was found unconsciousness.
The 38 year old man was found laying on the floor of his third floor unit. Paramedics who attempted to revive him pronounced him dead at the scene.
Initial reports indicate that the cause of death was an overdose. Municipal police officers cordoned off the area while the body was removed.
The man, who is reported by media to be of foreign nationality, has not been identified.
There is information that inside his unit, police found items related to drug use among his belongings. An autopsy will be performed to determine the official cause of death.
