Tulum, Q.R. — One of three men picked up on drug charges in Tulum is facing additional charges of kidnapping. On Thursday, authorities reported on the arrests of Benjamín “N”, Luis Antonio “N” and Alexander “N”, the latter of whom has been connected to at least three kidnappings.
According to police information, Alexander “N” is believed responsible for the kidnapping of four people in three separate events.
“Our first investigations link Alexander “N” to at least three acts constituting the crime of disappearance committed by private individuals to the detriment of four victims whose identity is withheld,” the State Attorney General (FGE) explained.
The three men in custody “are part of a criminal group dedicated to the distribution and sale of narcotics in the municipality of Tulum,” state authorities reported.
The trio were arrested in separate operations implemented by agents of the Investigative Police assigned to the Special Prosecutor’s Office in Combating Drug Dealing Crime in the Invasión 2 de Octubre neighborhood of the municipality of Tulum, the area where they maintained their operations.
