One killed, two injured in Tulum highway accident

Tulum, Q.R. — A Sunday morning highway accident outside Tulum has left one woman dead and two others injured after a vehicle was hit by an imposing car.

The accident happened near Laguna Kaan Luum along the Federal 307 Tulum-Felipe Carrillo Puerto section of highway.

The deceased, Anne Marie V.H., was traveling in a gray Chevrolet Aveo around 10:30 a.m. Sunday when she was hit on the driver’s side door by an oncoming Nissan Versa. The Nissan is alleged to have crossed into her lane, making contact with her car.

Her male passenger, along with the driver of the Nissan who is from José María Morelos, were injured in the accident.

The full speed impact caused both vehicles to leave the highway. Police and medical arrived on site to tend to the accident scene and its victims.
