One killed outside Tulum after invading vehicle hits back window of car

Tulum, Q.R. — One man was killed after the car he was traveling in was struck by a Jeep. The accident happened along a section of the Tulum-Felipe Carrillo Puerto section of highway around 1:30 a.m.

Five people were inside the car when the accident happened. The driver, Roman N, told police that the oncoming Jeep invaded their lane. While trying to avoid the vehicle, the Jeep hit his driver’s side.

The driver’s side of the car was literally sheered off. The front bumper of the Jeep also hit the driver’s side rear window of the car, killing one of its back seat passengers.

Four others from inside the car were not injured in the accident. The driver of the Jeep fled the scene before police arrived.
