Tulum, Q.R. — No arrests have been made after two ATMs were pried open and robbed of their cash outside a shopping plaza in Tulum.
La Policía Municipal de Tulum received the robbery report around 3:30 a.m. which is when the machines were noticed damaged by nearby night security personnel for other businesses. They reported that about 30 minutes earlier, a routine police surveillance unit had passed by the area.
Both cash machines were completely destroyed in the thieves attempt to remove the cash. The machines were outside the Plaza Comercial Artesanal, which are located inside the archaeological zone of Tulum.
Both la policía Municipal and the Fiscalía General del Estado arrived on scene to deal with the emptied cash machines.
