New schedule to ease traffic woes along Tulum Hotel Zone roadway

Tulum, Q.R. — In order to increase road mobility in the hotel zone of the Tulum-Boca Paila road, mayor Víctor Mas Tah has implemented hours for heavy vehicles and business deliveries in the area.

The general director of Economic Development of the municipality Mario Cruz, and the director of Municipal Transit, Hafit Mirand, held a meeting with representatives of tourist and commercial services to reach an agreement about the road use.

An agreement was made that saw the creation of a schedule that specifies times for hotel suppliers, restaurants and beach clubs, as well as times allowed for heavy trucks. An agreement was also reached with the Tulum Taxi Drivers Union that will see a maximum of two taxis permitted per assigned location.

Access to street vendors with tricycles or vehicles that obstruct the road is now prohibited. Mas Tas says the new rules will ensure order to activities along the busy roadway.
