Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Municipal Police were called to an address on Chunyaxché Street Friday where a man was reported shot. Officers found an adult male laying dead in the street in the 28 de Julio neighborhood of Playa del Carmen.
Residents made the report to emergency services after hearing bursts of gunfire.
Several shots were reported heard before the man was seen laying face down on the ground outside his home. Paramedics confirmed his death.
According to initial reports, neighbors said the man, a local resident, was outside his house when he was approached by an armed man on foot.
They also commented that the assailant managed an easy escape. Details surrounding the shooting are vague. The man’s name has not been released.
