Narcotics dog credited with Tulum bus terminal arrest

Tulum, Q.R. — A narcotics dog patrolling central Tulum with its handler is credited with an arrest. On Tuesday, canine Iza marked a suitcase as positive for an illegal substance.

The suitcase was sniffed out inside a central Tulum bus terminal on Polar Poniente Street during a police patrol.

“Police, in the company of a canine, proceeded to inspect a bus unit where there was a man who was guarding a backpack between his legs. When the dog passed near the person, the canine named Iza changed her body attitude, which indicates that she identified an aroma typical of narcotics,” the SSC reported in a statement.

According to the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), “police officers, upon noticing the dog’s change in attitude, approached the person and requested a check to which he agreed.

“Police carried out a physical inspection of the man who identified himself as Rodrigo “N”. During the procedure they seized a package of green vegetables with the characteristics of marijuana, a Samsung cell phone in color blue, a black iPhone cell phone and a gray backpack.”
