Tulum, Q.R. — Despite efforts by paramedics, a man died in Tulum Monday after being hit by a private vehicle. The accident happened at 12:20 p.m. along the road that leads to the archaeological zone of Tulum National Park.
Emergency services were notified of the accident by witnesses who said the driver of the private vehicle, a Dodge Caravan, invaded the lane of the motorcyclist, causing him to crash into the minivan at a high rate of speed.
Paramedics, Civil Protection and firefighters arrived and attempted to revive the man, however, after several minutes of CPR, he was pronounced on scene.
The road to the national park was closed to traffic for a short time due to the accident. Police did not provide details on possible charges.
