Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A motorcycle driver died Saturday night near a busy Playa del Carmen intersection. The man was traveling along Playa del Carmen Boulevard when he lost control of his motorcycle and skidded.
Both driver and bike came to a stop meters from the main intersection near Centro Maya.
Witness motorists called for help with municipal officers arriving first on scene. An ambulance was called for the injured man, however, he died during the skid.
Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Medical services was called for the removal of the body.
Traffic was interrupted for more than an hour while the scene of the single vehicle accident was cleared.
Authorities are still investigating an official cause for the crash.
