Missing Tulum taxi driver shows up in police mugshot

Tulum, Q.R. — A Tulum taxi driver reported as a missing person has turned up in a mugshot. The man identified as Jorge “N” was last seen June 1. His family reported him missing June 4 at which time the State Attorney General (FGE) issued a missing person alert for the 59 year old.

On Friday, Jorge “N” was picked up by police on narcotic charges. According to police, he was arrested with a women and another man on the Tulum-Cobá highway at the entrance to the town of Macario Gómez.

“In an initial intervention, the officers were conducting an investigation at the scene when they noticed a woman and two men handling small bags containing possible narcotics.

“The detainees identified themselves as Yajaira Emigdia “N”, Alberto David “N” and Jorge “N” who were found in possession of a dried, green plant resembling marijuana during the search. The arrest took place on the Tulum-Cobá highway, at the entrance to the town of Macario Gómez,” police reported in a statement. Information as to his whereabouts since June 1 remains unknown.
