Cancun, Q.R. — Mayor Ana Paty Peralta held a meeting with the members of Asociados Náuticos Quintana Roo (ANQR AC) to address maritime issues of interest. During the Wednesday meeting, both side also discussed promoting events such as the Captain Ferrat Fishing Tournament, which will take place in June.
“Cancun, through the Tourism Secretariat, carries out promotional work as was done at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) 2025 where nautical sports events such as the Captain Ferrat Tournament were discussed,” said the Mayor.
During the meeting, the partners presented an acknowledgement to the Mayor for participating in the bilateral dialogue and always maintaining a public policy of openness and listening to the voices of all social sectors.

Among the topics discussed by the municipal authorities were the digital operating license, the connection of cameras to C4 and C5 assigned to businesses in the Hotel Zone and the nautical guild being the example for adding more cameras.
They also discussed having a larger video surveillance network as well as presenting projects to the Technical Committee of the Trust for Administration and Payment of Public Resources.
Ana Paty Peralta appointed the Technical Secretary of the City Council, Patricio de la Peña Ruiz de Chávez, as a liaison between the boat owners and municipal authorities to clarify technical details in the operating license process.

She also asked that any irregularities by public servants be reported since corruption is a two-way problem – the one who offers and the one who accepts.
The head of Nautical Associates Quintana Roo, Francisco Fernández Millán, proposed that the next Captain Ferrat Fishing Tournament be named after Don Diego de la Peña in honor of his legacy and his boat Mr. Cancún.
