Man who planned logistics including getaway in Tulum cenote murders in custody

Tulum, Q.R. — Local authorities have made another arrest in the shooting deaths of two people at a Tulum cenote earlier this month. Investigative Police officers have arrested a man they have identified as Pablo Jesús “N”.

Police reported that “he is suspected of involvement in drug trafficking, specifically small-scale drug dealing. He is also allegedly implicated in the aggravated homicide of an Argentine citizen and another person, which occurred on January 9 of this year.”

Pablo Jesús “N” is believe connected to the January 9 shooting at a Tulum cenote parking lot that left two people dead. He is accused of organizing the logistics for the planned shooting, being the person responsible for renting a hotel where the hitmen stayed.

Police say he also provided the getaway transportation for the hitmen as well as ensured their protection.

Pablo Jesús “N” was arrested on Juanek Avenue in the Carlos Joaquín neighborhood of Tulum. During his arrest, police found marijuana, cocaine, an AR-15 rifle, two loaded magazines and a bulletproof vest inside a Nissan taxi.

“According to preliminary investigations, the suspect is allegedly involved in a homicide that occurred in a cenote parking lot. His involvement reportedly consisted of renting hotel rooms in Tulum to members of a criminal group involved in the crime,” police said.

“He is also alleged to have been responsible for transporting them from one location to another on the day of the homicide, as well as protecting them and moving them with weapons and drugs,”

Pablo Jesús “N” is the fifth person implicated in the Tulum cenote parking lot shooting that killed two men, an Argentinian citizen and local resident, while injuring one other.

Between January 12 and 14, four men were arrested related to the Tulum cenote shooting. All four men were arrested in Playa del Carmen.
