Tulum, Q.R. — A man has reportedly died by drowning in a Tulum cenote. The accident occurred Thursday in the municipality’s popular Dos Ojos cenote. Witnesses, along with friends of the now-deceased, told police that the man, who apparently was unable to swim, entered the cenote and immediately began having problems.
Although they rushed to help and were successful in pulling him out of the water, he was pronounced on scene by medical personnel from a responding ambulance. The identity of the man has not been released.
