Man wanted for double Tulum murders arrested in Yucatan

Tulum, Q.R. — A man wanted on two counts of homicide has been arrested in a town in the state of Yucatan. The arrest of Jorge P occurred in collaboration with investigative police from Quintana Roo and the state of Yucatan.

The Attorney General of Quintana Roo reported that 26-year-old Jorge P was captured and returned to the state for events that took place on April 17 in Tulum regarding the death of a man and a woman identified as MBAQ and CNLCD.

Oscar Montes de Oca Rosales, State Attorney General, reported the capture of Jorge P, identified as the alleged murderer of two people and the attempted murder of another, in addition to being one of the main drug distributors in Tulum.

During his arrest, three other people were also taken into custody for obstructing police by trying to prevent the arrest.

The FGE says that the arrest of Jorge P was the result of two months of monitoring, and that he is being investigated for additional criminal matters since he is known to be a leader of a criminal group in the municipality of Tulum.
