Tulum, Q.R. — Tulum police were at the scene of a fatal hit and run that happened early Thursday morning. The body of an adult male was found laying off the highway around 2:40 a.m.
Police were notified of the body by passing motorists who saw the man’s abandoned ATV. According to early information, he was driving his ATV along the Felipe Carrillo Puerto-Tulum federal highway when he was struck by a vehicle.
Paramedics confirmed the man dead at the scene. His body was found meters from the entrance to Cenote Cristal. The driver responsible for the deadly hit did not stop. Police have not said if they have any leads regarding the vehicle responsible.
