Tulum, Q.R. — A man was shot and killed in Tulum Thursday while he was parked next to a school. While sitting in his car talking with a woman, two subjects on a motorcycle pulled up beside him and began shooting.
Several bullets penetrated the driver’s side window, breaking it and hitting the male driver inside. The shooting was reported in the Mayapax area around 5:30 p.m.
Police arrived to cordon off the area and speak with the female passenger who was inside the car at the time of the shooting. She managed to get out of the vehicle unharmed.
Five shell casings were located at the scene. Paramedics were called, but the man died before they arrived. Police were notified of the shooting after area residents reported hearing gunfire. The deceased was not identified.
