Tulum, Q.R. — A man of Uruguayan nationality was found dead inside his Tulum home over the weekend. The cause of death was gunshots due to a targeted attack. Preliminary reports say an injured woman, who was related to the now-deceased, called police after three men entered the home.
The woman, who was reportedly locked in a separate room, called police Saturday afternoon after finding her brother-in-law had been shot. Police responded to the 4:00 p.m. call for help where they found the deceased, identified as 45-year-old Yehuda N, had been killed inside his upscale apartment.
Andreina N told police her brother-in-law was attacked when three individuals entered the apartment. She was physically assaulted before being locked in the laundry room. Two gunshots were heard. When she came out, she found her brother-in-law deceased.
The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) says they have begun an investigation into the homicide.
“The FGE reports that it has started an investigation for the events that occurred in Tulum where a male lost his life – apparently – due to gunshot wounds. Operational is implemented to locate the likely participant(s),” they announced through social media.
