Othón P. Blanco, Q.R. — A man accused of selling a car that was not his will remain jailed for the duration of his trial. A Chetumal judge has ordered Rolando Adrián “N” to remain jailed after being charged with fraud.
Rolando Adrián “N” is accused of selling a used car in October of 2022 that did not belong to him. The victim paid him 120,000 pesos for the vehicle. Days later, the newly purchased vehicle was seized by police when it was found with a current theft report.
When the victim asked for his money back, Rolando Adrián “N” refused. The victim filed an official complaint which lead to the arrest and subsequent legal problems for Rolando Adrián “N”.
In a report, local authorities said “on October 10, 2022, Rolando Adrián “N” allegedly sold the victim a vehicle claiming that it was his and that the papers were in order. Days later, the corresponding authorities seized the vehicle after verifying that it had a current theft report.
“In response to this incident, the affected party demanded that Rolando Adrián “N” return the 120,000 pesos he had paid for the vehicle, however, given his refusal to return the money, the male victim filed a complaint.”
A Chetumal judge issued an arrest warrant for Rolando Adrián “N”, which was fulfilled by Investigative Police of the Southern District. Rolando Adrián “N” is facing charges of fraud.
