Othón P. Blanco, Q.R. — Paramedics pronounced a man dead Sunday due to drowning. The accident happened Sunday afternoon at a lagoon in the southern community of Xul-Ha in the municipality of Othón P. Blanco.
Since the man died, police were called in. The unnamed man was with family at the lagoon when he went missing. He was eventually located by family members, but believed to be dead after efforts to resuscitate him failed.
Emergency 9-1-1 received the report of a deceased man on the shore of the Xul-Ha lagoon. Family reportedly tried to revive him, but without success. Responding paramedics confirmed the report as well as the death of the man.
The man is believed to have died by drowning, however, an autopsy will confirm the official cause.
