Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man, who died by drowning in a cenote on the outskirts of Playa del Carmen Friday, was a resident of the city.
In a briefing, a man who went swimming in an unidentified cenote northwest of Playa del Carmen, failed to emerge. It was around 3:00 p.m. when police and emergency personnel were called to the area.
Paramedics arrived to find him without vital signs. He was pronounced at the scene.
The man, who has also not been identified, was only said to be a resident of the city of Playa del Carmen.
