Tulum, Q.R. — The State Attorney General’s Office reports that Investigation Police have complied with an arrest warrant against José María O for the crime of homicide of a CAPA union leader in Tulum.
In a press release, the Attorney General says José María O was being held in the Palenque prison in Chiapas for drug related crimes, however, coordination between state prosecutors and ministerial authorities in Chiapas made José María O available to the Investigation Police of Quintana Roo who, they report, has already been transferred to the prison in Solidaridad.
José María O was transferred to the municipality of Solidaridad to face homicide charges for a murder that occurred in March of 2019 when a male was forcefully removed from a bar in the municipality of Tulum and later found dead.
Two people have already been arrested and are currently facing criminal proceedings in his death. Officials say in February, César A was arrested in the Villamar neighborhood in the municipality of Solidaridad, while Edgar A was apprehended in March 2019 in the municipality of Tulum.
