Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Agents have arrested a man believed responsible for the stabbing death of a Peruvian woman last week. On Friday, agents of the State Attorney General’s Office arrested Juan C, her alleged killer from a private residence on Canario Yucateco Street in the Villas del Sol subdivision of Playa del Carmen.

The Peruvian woman, Greter N, was stabbed to death on the night of July 10. According to the FGE statement, “he beat her and injured her with a sharp weapon, which caused her death. Subsequently, the defendant fled the scene taking the victim’s cell phone.”

Initially, police began investigating her death as a femicide, handing the case over to the Special Group for Attention to Victims of Family and Gender Violence. However, the following day, they released information that she was involved in a legal dispute and that the case was now being treated as a homicide.
