Cancun, Q.R, — Mexican airline Magnicharters (Grupo Aereo Monterrey S.A. de C.V) has announced direct flights between Cancun and Holguín. Starting November 10, the charter airline will connect Cancun with the eastern Cuba city.
Yoel Hechavarría, general coordinator of the Frank País García Airport in Holguín, says the flights will be offered every Wednesday. The departure time from Cancun is scheduled for 12:45 hours and the arrival time in Holguin territory, at 14:30. The return to Mexico, meanwhile, will be from 4:00 p.m., with estimated arrival at 5:15 p.m.
Hechavarría says according to forecasts, the Holguin Airport could see around 43 weekly arrivals by the end of the year if the United States government approves direct flights to the eastern region.
The airlines that currently operate in the eastern Cuban airport include Air Transat, Air Canada and Sunwing. Others such as Bahamas Air and WetJet are expected to join after November 15.
