Tulum, Q.R. — A taxi driver from Tulum was found lifeless inside his unit over the weekend, after his vehicle was seen parked along the Federal Highway.
Police reported the discovery around 8:00 a.m. about 500 meters from the Tortugas Cenote on the Tulum-Playa del Carmen section of federal highway. Upon their arrival, police report finding the lifeless body of male in full taxi uniform inside the car.
The deceased man, who has been identified as Roger Mendoza Fons and approximately 30 years of age, was discovered sitting in the driver’s seat wearing his seat belt. He was shot once.
Police report finding one caliber .380 ACP casing along with a cell phone. They also found a wallet behind the driver’s seat that is believed to have been accidentally left behind.
