Tulum, Q.R. — A lack of workers is being felt in the Tulum tourism industry. Daniela López Peña from the area of operations of the Tulum Hotel Association said that during a recent job fair, 13 companies participated.
The companies were looking to fill around 300 job vacancies in operational and all-level administrative areas. She said as an association, they promote these job vacancies where interested parties can deal directly with employers.
She pointed out that they had a lot of participation from people looking for work, but the problem of a lack of employees remains since so many people returned to their home states for the covid-19 pandemic and did not return.
“Suddenly there is a lot of fluctuation in jobs which is also due to the increase and decrease in tourists and we are doing these job fairs so that we can lower the rate of lack of employees,” she said.
