Riviera Maya, Q.R. — A Yucatan judge has revoked one of the definitive suspensions on section 5 of the Maya Train. Section 5, which runs from Cancun to Tulum, has been on hold for months after Amparos were filed by environmental groups.
The definitive suspension that was revoked Tuesday by Yucatan Judge Adrián Novelo is for section 5 north, which will run from Cancun to Playa del Carmen. At least two other definitive suspensions against section 5 south are still pending.
The suspension was revoked after the court accepted the environmental impact statement review by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) for section 5 north.
