Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Two heavily armed men were arrested in Playa del Carmen Thursday. Investigative Police, who made the arrests, reported both men are believed to be local drug dealers.

Police said one of the men, Duncan “N”, was located on 35th Avenue North, between 102nd Street North and 104th Street North. There, he was seen exchanging bags of possible narcotics with another male.
The second man fled at the sight of police. During a search of Duncan “N”, arresting officers found marijuana as well as a 5.56 millimeter caliber long firearm, a magazine and usable cartridges.
A second armed man was taken into custody on Lilis Avenue between Flor de Durazno and Linos streets in the Misión de las Flores neighborhood.

Police said Thursday that Martín de Jesús “N” was arrested after police witnessed him exchanging bags of narcotics with a second person.
That person, a man, escaped on a motorcycle when police arrived, however, Martín de Jesús “N” was arrested.
During his search, authorities found marijuana as well as a .233 caliber long firearm, a 9 x 19 millimeter caliber short firearm, two magazines and live cartridges.
Both men are facing charges of dealing narcotics and firearm possession.
