Investigation underway in death of Playa del Carmen hotel bar worker

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Municipal authorities are investigating the death of a local hotel bar worker. The man was found in his private home dead Wednesday afternoon.

Police were called to an apartment on Uguría Street in the Real Bilbao neighborhood by the man’s roommate who found him lying on his bedroom floor.

According to the report, the deceased man was found face down, naked and discolored.

The roommate, who has not been named, told police that the two shared the apartment but rarely crossed paths due to their differing personal schedules.

It is not known how long the man was dead before being found, however, the roommate mentioned not seeing the man for two days.

The deceased has been identified as 33-year-old Pedro Vásquez “O” who was originally from the state of Puebla. He was working at a Playa del Carmen hotel as a bartender’s assistant. Local authorities have not commented on a possible cause of death.
