Investigation into dismembered body found on Cancun road leads to capture of two

Cancun, Q.R. — The State Attorney General’s Office reports the capture of two people in the murder of a Cancun woman. Police say Tayra Alejandra “N” and Brayan Imanol “N” were captured “for acts probably constituting the crime of femicide”.

Both were taken into custody after police found the remains of a woman on December 12. Area residents reported finding human remains in a black bag that had been tossed along a public road.

After the discovery and subsequent investigation, Tayra Alejandra “N” and Brayan Imanol “N” were arrested.

“The events for which this Public Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the now-detained individuals occurred on December 12 of this year, when a report was received of possible human remains in black bags on a public road. According to the initial investigation, the remains belonged to a female,” the State Attorney General reported.

“After identifying the victim, and through investigative work, it was determined that she was last seen on December 10, in the company of Tayra Alejandra “N”. The victim told her family that she was going to the home of Tayra Alejandra “N” located in SM 95.

“Following an argument that escalated into a fight between the victim and the detainee’s younger sister, Tayra Alejandra “N” allegedly intervened to defend her sister, who, using a sharp object, allegedly caused injuries to the victim’s neck and subsequently struck her head with a blunt object, causing her death,” they said in a statement.

“Later, Tayra Alejandra “N” and Brayan Imanol “N” possibly used other sharp objects to dismember the victim’s body, and place it inside black bags along with blankets, leaving the remains outside a house.”

After obtaining the corresponding arrest warrant, elements of the State Attorney General’s Office proceeded to arrest Tayra Alejandra “N” and Brayan Imanol “N”.
