Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A development in central Playa del Carmen has been closed for non-compliance. The Ministry of Finance and Planning placed closure seals on the property Thursday.
According to the Ministry, the closure was applied due to violations of state tax provisions of Articles 70, 159 and 162. The site was also closed for omissions in the required documentation during an inspection.

According to notices posted at the site, the company failed to submit all the required documents requested by city officials.
The closure seals left behind after the city inspection said “closed due to acts of omission” with a notice of further penalties if the seals are altered or removed.
The closed development on 4th Street and 20th Avenue, is a mixed real estate project of apartments and businesses.
According to available information, it is the second time in less than a year the project has been closed. In late 2025, the Directorate of Regulations and Environmental Impact Assessment of the Municipal Secretariat of the Environment closed the project after residential complaints of the illegal felling of trees.
