INM inspectors patrol Playa del Carmen for illegal immigrants

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Agents from the National Migration Institute (INM), together with the National Guard and Quintana Roo Police, carried out an operation in search of illegal immigrants.

INM personnel, with the support of canine dogs, patrolled the city’s busy Constituyentes Avenue as well as other main roadways in Playa del Carmen in search of illegal visitors. Officials say the reason for the two-day patrol was to detect people of foreign origin who are in the country illegally and responsible for introducing crime.

According to preliminary information, their deployment resulted in the arrest of at least one man along Fifth Avenue. Details of his arrest were not made public.
