Tulum, Q.R. — A man was killed Tuesday morning while traveling along a highway on his tricycle. The man, who was not immediately identified, was killed when he was hit by a car on a secion of the Playa del Carmen-Tulum roadway that leads to Felipe Carrillo Puerto.
The accident happened shortly after 6:00 a.m. with witnesses calling authorities. Paramedics arrived at the accident only to confirm the death. Witnesses told police that the driver, who fled the scene, was driving a Yucatan-plated Honda car and due to a lack of caution, he hit the left side of the tricycle with the front of his vehicle.
