Heavily armed man found presenting fake police badge in Cancun

Cancun, Q.R. — A heavily armed man with a fake Ministerial Police badge has been arrested by the National Guard in Cancun.

The arrest was reported in a statement by the National Guard who indicated that the subject was arrested as part of an inspection of his Nissan March. They report that initially, the subject refused to submit to the review claiming to be an agent of the Ministerial Police and identifying himself with his fake badge.

National Guard personnel proceeded with their inspection and found three rifles, as well as a gun, 300 cartridges in 12 magazines, police and gang member ball caps and 500 doses of drugs along with several sets of vehicle plates.

The subject, identified as 27-year-old Jorge Enrique E.C, originally from Tepic, was handed over to the Attorney General’s Office.
