Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The suspect in the 2025 murder of a Playa del Carmen man has been charged in his death. Police say Gamaliel “N”, alias “Maquiavélico”, has been charged with aggravated homicide. He has also been charged with possession with intent to distribute.
Police say “Gamaliel “N” was arrested at the intersection of Lilis Avenue and Bahía de Plenty Street in the In-House informal settlement. He was formally charged with possession with intent to distribute the narcotic cannabis sativa L. He was remanded in custody pending trial.
“Regarding the crime of aggravated homicide, the events occurred on June 29, 2025, when the now accused located the victim at the intersection of Bahía de Huatulco and Bahía Honda streets.
“Subsequently, he approached the man and shot him several times with a short firearm, taking his life.”
Gamaliel “N” has been ordered to remain in detention during his trial. Police say he belonged to a criminal gang where he was in charge of drug sale points around Playa del Carmen.
