Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Four people were left with injuries during a weekend accident between two vehicles. Emergency services were sent to the scene Sunday morning around 10:30 a.m. where a car and pickup had collided.
The driver of a private car is alleged to have rear-ended the pickup, causing it to overturn. Three people inside the cab of the truck were injured during the rollover.
The driver of the car was also left with injuries after the vehicle crashed into a highway road sign.
Several ambulance companies responded to reports of the two vehicle federal highway crash in south Playa del Carmen. All four people were treated at the scene before being transferred to area hospitals.
Traffic was backed up due to the arrival of emergency vehicles followed by the arrival of tow trucks. Authorities did not provide an official cause for the accident.
