Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A total of 10 people were removed from a Playa del Carmen building during an operation Monday. Two adults and five children were removed after three men being chased by police ran inside to take refuge.

Police from the Public Security Secretariat arrested the three men in the Luis Donaldo Colosio neighborhood after a foot chase led them to the building.
The three men, reported seen armed with weapons, were attempting to flee police on foot when they ran into what is believed to be a criminal safehouse.
All three ran inside an old building on 70th Street and 15th Avenue where they were eventually captured and taken into custody. The two adults and five children inside were also removed.
There are reports that the old apartment building was being used as a criminal safehouse.
Local authorities have not commented on the Monday afternoon operation that led to the three arrests or the possible discovery of a criminal safehouse.
